WASHINGTONMitsubishi Fuso is recalling nearly 15,000 model-year 2005-2007 Canter FE-series work trucks because the fuel lines run the risk of cracking and leaking, which poses a fire risk.

The recall covers model-year 2005-2007 FE83D, FE84D and FE85D trucks sold in the U.S. and Canada.

To remedy the problem, dealers will inspect the fuel lines, replace them if needed and also ensure that nuts holding the fuel lines in place are properly tightened.

The recall is expected to get under way in mid-January, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
