WASHINGTON -- Hyundai is recalling 13,500 2012 model-year Veloster vehicles to repair their panoramic sunroofs, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The recall covers Velosters manufactured from Nov. 1, 2011 through April 17, 2012 that are equipped with panoramic sunroofs. Because of an assembly problem in the factory, some of the sunroofs have weakened glass panels that run the risk of breaking while the vehicle is in motion, NHTSA said. To remedy the problem, dealers will inspect the sunroof's integrity and replace the sunroof glass assembly, as necessary, free of charge.

The safety recall will begin next month. Owners can contact Hyundai at 1-800-633-5151.
