WASHINGTON – Nissan North America Inc. is recalling 11,076 2012 model-year Juke crossover vehicles because the rear seat back runs the risk of separating during a collision, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

NHTSA attributed the problem to an incomplete weld penetration, which can lead the rear seat back striker to partially separate in a crash.

Nissan dealers will remedy the problem by replacing the affected seat back strikers. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall is expected to get under way this month.

Vehicle owners can reach Nissan at (800) 647-7261.
