WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ – The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named the all-new 2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan a “Top Safety Pick.” The IIHS gave the vehicle ratings of “good” in all four of its tests, including a 40 mph frontal offset impact test, a side impact test, a rear impact protection/head restraint test, and a rollover protection test.

Safety features on the all-new BMW 3 Series Sedan include dynamic stability control, front, side, and head protection airbags, a full-color heads-up display, a lane departure warning system, a rearview camera system with top-view, and a blind-spot warning system. IIHS requires dynamic stability control as its criteria for naming a vehicle a Top Safety Pick. BMW introduced this safety feature in the 1995 model-year.
