SMYRNA, TN – As part of a safety recall, Nissan North America is replacing inaccurate certification labels affixed to 26,626 2012 model-year Armada and Titan vehicles. In violation of federal safety standards, the vehicles’ original “part 567 -- certification” labels fail to include rim size information.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the original labels’ omission poses a safety risk because vehicle owners are more likely to opt for a faulty tire-wheel combination.
Nissan will supply owners with a new label and instructions on how to apply it. The recall is expected to get under way in mid-May.
Nissan can be reached at (615) 725-1000.
