WASHINGTON – Chrysler Group is recalling 289 2012 model-year Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles because some of them may be equipped with right-rear hub and bearing assemblies that were not fully machined, reported the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

This condition could result in decreased durability, which increases the risk of wheel separation, the NHTSA said.

All the Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles covered in this recall were manufactured from Nov. 15, 2011 through Nov. 21, 2011.

Chrysler will notify owners of the recall, and dealers will replace the right-rear hub and bearing assembly free of charge.

This recall is expected to get under way this month. Owners can reach Chrysler at (800) 853-1403.
