Altec Recalling 1,222 Bucket Trucks

April 11, 2012

WASHINGTON – Altec Industries Inc. is recalling 1,222 1993-2004 model-year AA755 and AA755L bucket trucks because of a safety risk associated with the lower boom.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, continuous overloading or side loading of the booms could cause the lower boom to crack near its pivot. Continued use could eventually cause boom failure. This condition increases the risk of injury to people or property below.

Altec will notify owners of the recall and provide an AA boom stiffener kit to strengthen the lower boom and guard against such cracking.

Owners can reach Altec at (877) 462-5832.
