Recall Targets MY 2012 Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana

November 23, 2011

General Motors is recalling about 1,800 model-year 2012 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles because of a potential air bag problem, reported the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The second stage of the dual-stage air bag may not inflate in a severe frontal impact collision, the NHTSA said.

GM will notify vehicle owners of the recall, and dealers will install a new front-passenger air bag free of charge. The vehicles covered by this recall were all manufactured from June 2 though Oct. 17 of this year.

Owners can reach GMC at (800) 462-8782 or Chevrolet at (800) 222-1020.
