WASHINGTON - Ford Motor Co. is recalling 14,737 model year 2011 vehicles because of the potential for an electrical short, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall covers the MY 2011 Edge; F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 trucks and the Lincoln MKX.

During a six-day production period, a supplier manufactured body control modules that may have the potential for an internal short, NHTSA said. This condition poses the risk of overheating, which in turn increases the risk of fire.

Ford dealers will replace any defective body control modules free of charge. Vehicle owners can reach Ford at (866) 436-7332.
