WASHINGTON - Daimler Trucks is recalling 366 model year 2010 Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks because of a potential seatbelt problem, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The trucks covered by the safety recall were all manufactured from Aug. 25, 2009 through Sept. 3, 2009. They were built with out-of-specification inboard seatbelt anchor plates that lack the required strength. In the event of a crash, the seatbelt anchorage may fail to hold in place the seatbelt apparatus, increasing the risk of the belt not adequately restraining the seat occupant.

Daimler Trucks will repair the trucks and replace the existing seatbelt anchor if needed. There will be no charge for this service. This safety recall is expected to begin around March 11. Truck owners can reach Daimler Trucks at (800) 547-0712.
