WASHINGTON - General Motors Corp. is recalling more than 97,800 MY 2011 Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles because of a seatbelt problem.

The driver and front passenger safety belt buckle anchors are at risk of fracturing and separating near the seat attachment in a vehicle crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This poses a safety risk.

Dealers will modify the safety belt buckles as needed, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin around Jan. 18. Vehicle owners can reach Cadillac at (866) 982-2339, Chevrolet at (800) 630-2438, and GMC at (866) 996-9463.
