NHTSA to Probe '09 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Engine

WASHINGTON - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating whether the MY 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI is prone to stalling, the Los Angeles Times reported. 

The agency has received consumer complaints about stalling engines in the model, and its probe will determine whether a safety recall is at all warranted. 

Volkswagen, based in Wolfsburg, Germany, said it is fully cooperating with NHTSA's probe.
