FOSTER CITY, CA - National Auto Club (NAC) has introduced NAC RoadSvc, a new emergency roadside assistance smartphone Web application.

The free Web application is available for download and can be used to access service across the country, regardless of club affiliation. When a vehicle breaks down, users touch the NAC RoadSvc icon on their phone to connect to the company's round-the-clock call center. NAC identifies the nature of the breakdown, vehicle location, and dispatches a local roadside service provider to assist. Payment for the service is all arranged, via major credit card, while still on the line.

"With the tremendous growth in smartphones, this solution provides the benefits of traditional roadservice programs and combines it with the latest in technology," said A.J. Iamaio, business development manager.

The NAC RoadSvc Web app is currently available for the iPhone and can be downloaded at the "App Store." Versions for the other smartphones are currently being programmed. While initially designed as a consumer application, NAC is aligning with various business partners to, in turn, offer this value-added service to their customers as well.

NAC has been providing roadside assistance and towing services since 1924.  Along with membership programs, NAC serves a diverse group of clients including private and public fleets, fleet management companies, insurance companies, and fuel card providers.  Additional information is available at www.thenac.com.
