WASHINGTON - American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 1,854 MY 2010 Acura ZDX cars -- all of which were manufactured between Nov. 12, 2009 and March 22, 2010 -- because of an airbag issue.

During the manufacturing process, the dashboard covering material may not have been properly laser scored to allow complete deployment of the front passenger's SRS airbag, the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration reported. This raises the risk of an injury in the event of a crash and airbag deployment.

Acura dealers will inspect the dashboard covering material and replace it if necessary, free of charge. The safety recall is set to begin around April 21.

Vehicle owners can contact Acura at (800) 382-2238.
