Trailers' Faulty Labeling Prompts Recall

June 17, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Northern Tool & Equipment Co. is recalling more than 17,000 Long Chih Trailers because they fail to meet all federal safety standards requiring tire placard labeling and certification labeling.

The missing and incorrect information could lead to improper vehicle loading or improper tire inflation, increasing the chances of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

Long Chih Trailers has agreed to mail corrected labels to consumers, with instructions on how to properly affix the labels.
