Indiana Roadways Rocked by Rough Storms

January 31, 2008

POSEYVILLE, Ind. --- Storms have raced across Indiana this week, creating some of the most dangerous driving conditions in recent memory.

Wind gusts of 81 mph were recorded in Greencastle. Three semitrailers were blown over in a Kmart parking lot in Elwood, about 40 miles northeast of Indianapolis, and another overturned on Indiana 57 near Washington in southern Indiana, the AP reported.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch that extends from tonight through Friday evening. Central Indiana can expect four to eight inches of snow with rain and freezing sleet possible.
