Schwarzenegger Vetoes Repair Invoice Bill

October 18, 2007

SACRAMENTO, Calif. --- California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has vetoed a state bill that would have required repair shops to sign the front page of each invoice affirming that the parts itemized on the invoice were actually installed in the vehicle.Schwarzenegger called the bill's provisions "duplicative of existing law and therefore unnecessary." He also added that the provisions may have led to greater expenses and diminished efficiency at auto repair shops. The bill was opposed by the California Autobody Association.
