Pennsylvania Highway Safety Program Takes Aim at Aggressive Driving

HARRISBURG, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has unveiled a new highway safety program, dubbed "Smooth Operator," aimed at curbing aggressive driving, speeding, tailgating and unsafe lane changes.A total of 175 police departments will participate in the program, according to WFMZ-TV News. Those include the police forces for such cities as Allentown and Easton. State statistics indicate that aggressive driving is the No. 1 cause of fatal traffic accidents in Pennsylvania.
