Faulty Brake Light Switch Spurs Volkswagen Recall

WASHINGTON D.C. --- Volkswagen of America has recalled 790,000 vehicles because of a faulty brake light switch.According to the AP, the recall involves the following vehicles: 1999-2006 model years of the Golf and GTI, 2001-2005 Jettas, 2001-2007 New Beetles and the 2004 R32. Dealers will install a replacement brake light switch free of charge.The new recall amounts to an expansion of last year's recall of some Jettas and New Beetles because of the same problem. The company has discovered that more vehicles may have the defect than originally thought.
