Chrysler Group Reports September Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Increase 23 Percent

Chrysler Group,demonstrating its growing presence within the Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle(CPOV) segment by offering one of the most comprehensive coverage packages for certified pre-owned vehicles, posted sales of 7,857 certified pre-owned vehicles September, an increase of 23 percent over September 2003 sales. Third quarter sales improved 18 percent to 23,877 units, while calendar year-to-date sales rose 14 percent to 73,908 units compared to last year. "The growth of our CPOV program is fueled by customers recognizing thevalue of owning a certified pre-owned vehicle with comprehensive coverage,"said Ray Fisher, Chrysler Group vice president -sales and service & partsoperations. "We continue to offer one of the best comprehensive coveragepackages in the industry. Customers are attracted to the simplicity of theprogram and the value and peace of mind it offers."Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used," Chrysler Group certified pre-ownedvehicles are only sold by Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep(R) dealers who have earnedthe Five Star certification. Approximately 2,400 Chrysler Group dealerships in the U.S. arecertified as Five Star.
