Greater Quad City Auto Auction Celebrates Anniversary

August 19, 2004

Greater Quad City Auto Auction recently celebrated 56 years in the business with an anniversary sale that concluded with a prize giveaway event. Immediately following the sale, the auction started an hour’s worth of drawings and prize giveaways. Events included putting for cash in one corner, shooting baskets for cash in another corner; the green machine in a third corner, and spin to win in the fourth. After the festivities, all customers were paged to the lobby, where 600 dealers packed the room to capacity, hoping to hear their names drawn for more prizes. At the end of the day, 19 different dealerships left the auction with a variety of prizes, from a stainless steel grill, Nike titanium driver, and Sony Surround Sound system to finishing poles, monogrammed golf balls, and gold putters. By day’s end the auction had given away more than $10,000 in cash and prizes.
