Greg Jelinek, executive vice president of National City Bank and manager of dealer finance, announced September 2, 2003 the appointment of Garry Marquiss as general manager of National City’s automotive finance division. Effective immediately, Mr. Marquiss will play an integral role in the growth, strategic direction, and management of the business line.

Mr. Marquiss joins National City with approximately 23 years of banking experience in dealer finance, leasing, collections, consumer loan operations, and corporate finance. An industry veteran and dynamic leader, he is responsible for the overall sales management of the bank’s automotive regions as well as the tactical growth and direction of the automotive finance division.

Prior to National City, Mr. Marquiss served as vice president and chief operating officer of M&I Dealer Finance, Inc., a $2.1 billion consumer finance subsidiary of Marshall and Ilsley Corporation. While at M&I Dealer Finance, Mr. Marquiss managed the acquisition and maintenance of accounts financed through third party relationships as well as the consumer collections area. There he was responsible for increasing sales and acquisitions and for improving sales penetration while maintaining effective credit and pricing discipline.
