Effective immediately, Mr. Marquiss will play an integral role in the growth, strategic direction, and management of the business line.

Mr. Marquiss joins National City with approximately 23 years of banking experience in dealer finance, leasing, collections, consumer loan operations, and corporate finance. An industry veteran and dynamic leader, he is responsible for the overall sales management of the bank’s automotive regions as well as the tactical growth and direction of the automotive finance division.

“The dynamics of the automobile market and the changing environment of the financial services arena continue to create new opportunities for growth and innovation in the automobile financing segment,” said Garry Marquiss. “I’m honored to be joining such a talented team of financing professionals and look forward to leveraging these opportunities to best meet the needs of thousands of dealers with new products and services and an ongoing commitment to our customers throughout the region.”

Prior to National City, Mr. Marquiss served as vice president and chief operating officer of M&I Dealer Finance, Inc., a $2.1 billion consumer finance subsidiary of Marshall and Ilsley Corporation. While at M&I Dealer Finance, Mr. Marquiss managed the acquisition and maintenance of accounts financed through third party relationships as well as the consumer collections area.
