FedEx has expanded its SameDay City delivery service to 1,800 cities in 30 regional U.S. markets, the company has announced.

With SameDay City, FedEx offers residential and business delivery of time-sensitive parcels within hours using FedEx-branded vehicles. An accompanying mobile app allows users to track the status of the package.

The move comes as competition with Amazon for faster deliveries is heating up. On Nov. 8, Amazon is launching Amazon Key, which will allow drivers to deliver a package inside the home of a Prime member. The service includes a security camera and smart lock.

Amazon has also launched Business Prime Shipping that offers free two-day shipping for business supplies.

FedEx SameDay City is now available in regions including Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Memphis, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Orange County, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Riverside, Sacramento, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, and Washington, D.C.
