Ford Motor Co. was awarded the seventh annual SAE Foundation Gordon Millar Award for its commitment to the SAE Foundation’s goal of supporting student education and achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The award, which is funded by Austrian-based automotive consulting firm AVL, is given in special recognition of an individual or organization that best demonstrates continuous philanthropic support of the SAE Foundation Mission.

“This is a great honor,” said Jim Holland, vice president of vehicle component and systems engineering, Ford. “Our goal at Ford Motor Company – as it regards education-related initiatives – is to make an impact on local communities and the people they serve through programs like Ford Next Generation Learning, and we are tremendously honored to be chosen for this award.”
