Special provisions or perquisites are enjoyed by over half of top executives, according to the 1908 Survey & Analysis of Financial treatment of Executive & Business Vehicles, published by Runzheimer International. These perks include paid spousal travel, chauffeur service or limousines, company aircraft, executive parking, and company-provided ears.
This survey of financial executives within 385 organizations reveals that as you move down the organization chart from top executives through upper middle and middle management, these special benefits are not as readily accessible. For example, paid spousal travel expenses are available to 61% of top executives, 31% of upper management, and only 8% of middle managers. Similarly, company aircraft are available to 56%, 29%, and 15%, respectively.
