Terex' June 2013 service school

To keep mechanics and service technicians up-to-date on the latest Terex equipment technologies and equipment advancements, Terex Utilities hosted its annual Service School on June 4-7 at the company’s headquarters in Watertown, S.D. At this year’s event, the Terex Service Department hosted 64 people from 16 states and four countries.

The 2013 Service School offered attendees the opportunity to learn tips, tricks, and troubleshooting techniques on utility trucks and support equipment from experienced Terex Support instructors. Providing an innovative hands-on approach creates an atmosphere where participants feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their experiences with the group. This school includes in-depth experiences with various units, components, and systems.

“Attendees of this year’s Terex Service School came from our distribution network, as well as from investor-owned utility and rural electric cooperative customers,” says Francis Strohfus, training and technical support manager, Terex Utilities. “Most of the attendees were from their companies’ service departments, and they range from brand-new employees to experienced hydraulic and heavy equipment service technicians. During the 3-1/2 day event, we provided attendees with the most comprehensive, in-depth information available on a wide-variety of utility equipment to enable them to better do their jobs.”

For mechanics and service technicians not able to attend the Watertown event, Terex Utilities will also host another Service School on September 10-12 in Denver, Colo., and on September 17 and 18 at its facility in White House, Tenn. To register for the events, visit the Terex site.

In addition to these in-person training events, customers can request customized training at their own facilities or take advantage of The Edge, Terex Utilities’ online training university.
