Safelite AutoGlass has conducted a poll where it asked drivers about basic preventive maintenance. Safelite found that 65% of respondents replace windshield wipers once per year, and 23% replace them every two to three years. Safelite recommends drivers replace windshield wipers every six months or 6,000 miles.

Next, for tire rotations, Safelite said automakers recommend rotating tires every 5,000 to 10,000 miles. The majority of respondents, 61%, followed these guidelines, and 30% rotated their vehicles’ tires more frequently.

Lastly, the majority of respondents, at 55%, check their tail lights at least once per month, the 29% only check them when they find out one is out.
