CINCINNATI Mike Albert Vehicle Fleet Management has announced its designation as the 2008 Tri-State Family Business of the Year, presented by the University of Cincinnati's Goering Center for Family and Private Business. Mike Albert competed in the category of companies with more than 100 employees.

"Our company celebrated its 50th anniversary this year," said Marty Betagole, president of Mike Albert Vehicle Fleet Management. "It is especially meaningful to be recognized at this point in time when the third generation is involved in running the company, and as we evolve into a full-service fleet management business."

The award, now in its ninth year, is based on several criteria: Positive family-business linkage, business success, multiple family member and/or multiple generation involvement, contributions to community and industry, and innovative business practices, products or strategies.

An awards ceremony honoring the recipients took place August 26 at Music Hall in Cincinnati. Sponsors received recognition in the dinner program and on sponsor boards.
