Nissan North America is recalling 25,283 2015-2017 Leaf and 2014, 2015 and 2017 Sentra cars so dealers can replace defective front-passenger air bag inflators.

Because of a manufacturing error within the air bag inflators, the passenger frontal air bags may not properly deploy during a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Dealers will replace the faulty inflator in each car free of charge. The recall is expected to get under way June 11. Vehicle owners can reach Nissan customer service at (800) 647-7261.
