Hawaiian lawmakers have passed a law that ends the mandate requiring the blending of ethanol with gasoline in the state.

The state becomes the second in the nation to take the step, following calls from federal lawmakers, including U.S. Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Pat Toomey, to end the federal mandate. Florida ended its mandate in 2013, according to the Associated Press.

Feinstein and Toomey have introduced a bill that would repeal the corn ethanol mandate in the federal Renewable Fuel Standard.

    * Do you want $2 Gasoline at the pump?

    * Do you want clean air and water?

Ethanol waiver and elimination of E-85 flex fuel credit can cut our ozone & CO2 transportation pollution over 50%

Let’s improve performance of CA Climate change law AB 32 (Pavley) in 2015 for future generations

Is it time for an Attorney General, EPA conversation?

Using modern refined 100% ethanol-free gasoline(E0) & anti-pollution equipment, even vehicles with 100,000 miles have obtained commendable real-world low emissions. Ethanol only gives efficient low pollution in high compression ratio(16:1) ethanol engines. As used(not burned effectively) in low compression ratio(9:1 to 11:1) gasoline engines, ethanol fails as a low pollution agent. Also, using only 10% E10 in those gasoline engines, mpg collapses by 8% to 5%. The "ethanol in gasoline industry" actually uses MORE oil than it can save & adds to our imported oil quantities. As in Hawaii, other states have repealed ethanol blending rules, the EPA is retreating from ethanol blending rules & both national & other state legislations may get the foreign ethanol out of our national gasoline stocks.
