In Memoriam: Peter LeFort

March 02, 2010

IRVINE, CA - Peter LeFort, one of the founding members of the California Hydrogen Business Council, passed away Feb. 12. He was 79.

LeFort served as executive secretary of the council until health issues forced him into retirement in 2002.

A longtime employee of Raytheon, he first moved his family to Southern California in 1969.

He had a lifelong interest in engineering and advanced technology. That translated into a passion and interest in hydrogen and fuel cell energy systems.

"He is remembered as gregarious, generous, a connoisseur of good food and wine and a tireless entertainer. He will be missed," the council said.
