March 23, 2010

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, CANADA - Electrovaya, a Canadian-based maker of lithium-ion battery systems for clean transportation, announced that former Chrysler CEO Thomas LaSorda has joined its board of directors.

LaSorda will also serve as strategic advisor to Electrovaya CEO Sankar DasGupta, focusing on the company's growth strategy.

"As the only major zero-emission manufacturer of lithium ion batteries, Electrovaya is uniquely positioned to address this vast new market for electric vehicles and other products," LaSorda said.

Chrysler Group has chosen Electrovaya as supplier of advanced lithium-ion batteries for the automaker's Ram plug-in hybrid electric vehicle test fleet.
