Geotab announced the launch of the Geotab DEV Channel, a video site that assists business software application developers in their use of Geotab's Software Development Kit (SDK).

The DEV Channel complements the existing resources available to developers who want to leverage a world leading telematics tool.

"It [DEV Channel] helps connect developers to real world business problems to encourage building relevant applications or add-ons that the global business community is looking for," said Colin Sutherland, vice president of global sales."Developers are a key focus for Geotab in the ongoing pursuit of advancement and innovation across industries that utilize our telematics solution."

By providing an open development platform, SDK, our DEV Channel and the Geotab Marketplace, Geotab makes it easy for the development community to create, add value and commercialize innovative applications in the telematics space. As these new applications are developed and launched, Geotab expects to see a variety of new fleet management applications that ultimately will bring additional cost-savings and safety features to fleets of all sizes.

As an example of third party developers working with the Geotab, Navistar recently integrated Geotab data into the Navistar OnCommand Connection program.

In addition, the telematics provider expects to take advantage of all the data-sets which are collected on the MyGeotab platform. They currently collect more than 600 million telematics data-points every day providing unique data collection from vehicles can be used for intelligent benchmarking to improve overall performance and safety for any fleet.

The new DEV Channel program is a further demonstration of Geotab's commitment to providing long-term accessibility and use to the fleet industry compared to its competitors.
