Hyundai has launched updated version of its Blue Link and Genesis Intelligent Assistant mobile apps that now allow users to remote-start their vehicle, toggle climate control settings, and control navigation functions.

The new Blue Link (version 3.0) offers several remote functions, including a start-engine timer of up to 10 minutes, stop, climate control, and defroster. The app provides a simplified user interface and faster navigation.

The new Hyundai Genesis Intelligent Assistant coincides with the arrival of the redesigned 2015 Genesis, which adds more standard features, including an eight-inch screen supporting included navigation and a rearview camera, paddle shifters, hill hold control, power folding exterior mirrors, driver knee airbag, HD radio, a 4.3-inch TFT LCD cluster display, and Blue Link telematics system.

The app will estimate departure times and send reminders about upcoming appointments that require a drive. The app calculates departure reminder messages using up-to-the-minute commute times from the user’s current location to the destination and accounting for traffic.

The apps are available on the iOS and Android platforms.
