Mojio and the telecommunications company, TELUS have paired up to bring a Mojio connected car solution to Canada. The car will be powered by TELUS later this year.

The Vancouver-startup, Mojio provides a small cellular device that plugs into a car’s onboard diagnostic port. The Mojio devices will connect vehicles to the Internet through the TELUS network, enabling drivers to locate, monitor and diagnose their car from their smartphone.

Mojio’s module can upload acceleration, braking and engine alert information into your smartphone, but Mojio layered on a bunch of other apps that integrate that driver data with social networking, contacts, calendar and SMS features on your phone.

The cost of the Mojio device is $169, which includes the first year of service.
