M2M Enabler RACO Wireless Signs on GPS Tracking Provider Geotab as a New Partner

October 12, 2011 - Press Release

SAN DIEGO, CA – At the CTIA Enterprise & Applications 2011 show, RACO Wireless, a key machine-to-machine (M2M) partner and enabler powered by T-Mobile, announced that it will now support M2M connectivity and SIM management for Geotab. Geotab is a provider of end-to-end solutions that give customers the tools and data they need to improve efficiencies, reduce waste, build service levels and increase revenues from their fleets.

Geotab uses M2M connectivity to support the telematics fleet management products it offers customers, which not only enhance driver productivity and safety but also reduce operating costs for its customers by delivering insurance-related and other bottom line savings.

RACO Wireless has been the preferred M2M provider for T-Mobile for nearly 10 years. Geotab worked with the RACO Wireless team for many years when they were part of T-Mobile’s M2M business. Now, Geotab will migrate its M2M support to RACO Wireless.

“We look forward to once again working with the highly experienced team of M2M professionals at RACO Wireless, most of which helped us support many of our pioneering efforts in telematics when they worked with us previously as T-Mobile executives,” said Colin Sutherland, Geotab vice president of sales. “We can already see that RACO Wireless offers its customers amazing flexibility and speed when it comes to developing and implementing M2M applications. We are confident this new relationship will allow us to adapt even more quickly to meet our customers’ needs.”

“With Geotab’s pioneering role in fleet tracking and location-based services, the company is poised to make a significant impact in the fast-growing market for commercially insured and self-insured fleets. In fact, Geotab has already been instrumental in quantifying the bottom line savings these solutions deliver – like the $30 million per year one of Geotab’s customers saves by reducing self-insured claims in vehicle damage, personal injury and worker’s compensation,” said John Horn, president of RACO Wireless. “We are very happy to be supporting their efforts and look forward to helping them with their continued growth as they gain share in this key sector.”

RACO Wireless specializes in providing wireless connectivity for machine-to-machine applications via T-Mobile’s network.
