Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles sold over 480,064 vehicles to customers worldwide in the 2016 financial year, an 11.4% increase over the previous year.

This number surpasses the mark of 430,900 commercial vehicles vehicles sold in 2015. In particular, Western Europe Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles increased its delivery volume by 329,400 units, which is a 15.7% increase, according to the automaker.

Meanwhile, 124,000 vehicles were delivered to customers in Germany in 2016. This represents an increase of 11.6% compared to 2015. The past year was also successful in the European volume markets: Italy had a 46.1% increase, sales in Spain increased 27.7%, France had a 24.8% increase, and the UK had a 5.8% increase.

The brand was also successful in Eastern Europe, which is where 36,500 light commercial vehicles were delivered to customers. This represents an increase of 16.9%.

The following sales regions also increased their sales: North America had a 24.7% increase, Africa a 6.3% increase, the Middle East  with a 2.6% increase, and Asia Pacific with a 1.3% increase.

However, in South America deliveries of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles went down by 12.7%. This was due to the economically unstable environment in the region.
