PSA Peugeot Citroen has entered into an agreement with PAN Nigeria Limited to start producing cars in that country later this year, the company announced.

Peugeot plans to first roll out the compact 301 sedan. PAN's Kaduna plant will produce futire models including the Peugeot 508 large family car and the smaller five-door hatchback, Peugeot 308.

The agreement is aligned with a new automotive industry development policy established by the Nigerian government.

The French-based Peugeot will compile a dozen dealers that will be able to uphold the brand's standards and support the business growth in Nigeria, a country with an estimated 170 million people that is still expanding.
