Wheels Adds Security to Canadian Fuel Card

October 30, 2013

Wheels Inc. recently announced that its Canadian fuel card now features chip-enabled technology that enhances data reporting and card security.

The new card contains a small microchip that stores new levels of data for fuel reporting, and is also virtually impossible for a thief to alter or replicate, according to the company. For an additional measure of security, drivers must now enter an identification code in order to use the card. Drivers will continue to be prompted for odometer entries to aid in mileage validation and data reporting.

The new fuel card is possible due to recent progress that banks, credit card companies, and fuel providers in Canada have made to implement state-of-the art chip technology at gas stations across the nation, according to Wheels.

Wheels has begun mailing the new co-branded MasterCard fuel card to all Canadian drivers enrolled in its fuel management program.
