San Francisco and Los Angeles Have Top Fuel Prices in the Country

According to research by Automotive Fleet magazine, a listing of the top 10 most expensive cities in which to buy gasoline showed that while San Francisco and Los Angeles have been consistent in having the highest gasoline prices in the nation, that did not hold true for the entire West Coast.


Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel Available to Fleets

BP Amoco announced that it can supply ultra low sulfur diesel fuel to fleets that desire to use it. The fuel, called BP ECD, is an emission-control heavy-duty diesel fuel that can aid air quality without compromising vehicle performance.


Diesel Fuel Price Rises 2.8 Cents

Drivers of diesel trucks spent an average of $8.40 more this week than last week to fill their tanks. A report by the Department of Energy states that the average price of a gallon of diesel continued to climb this week, reaching $1.323 per gallon on April 8, which is 2.8 cents above last week at this time and 16.9 cents above the price six weeks ago.


Alaskan Truckers Looking at Cleaner Diesel Fuel

Truckers in Alaska will be required to use ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel by 2010, according to Michele Brown, Department of Environmental Conservation commissioner.

BP has unveiled its BP Business and BP BusinessPlus cards. The BP Business Card offers basic fueling expense management needs for smaller fleets. The BP BusinessPlus card, for large fleets, offers customized features such as a rebate program.

CFN (Commercial Fueling Network) has started a national accounts program, CFN FleetPro, bringing expanded technology and coverage to fleets.


Middle East Violence Pumps Up Oil Futures

According to the Los Angeles Times, the violence in the Middle East has helped push the price of oil futures up 8 percent in the past week. The May contract for West Texas intermediate, used as a price benchmark in the U.S., rose briefly above $27 per barrel, before closing at $26.88 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.


Diesel Fuel Price Rises to $1.295 Per Gallon

The U.S. price of diesel fuel rose 1.4 cents per gallon two weeks ago, bringing it to a national average of $1.295 per gallon, according to the Department of Energy.
