Toyota will roll out 14 new highly efficient gasoline engine variations by 2015 expected to improve fuel efficiency by at least 10 percent, the automaker has announced.

Two engines will form the base of the new series, including a 1.3L engine using the Atkinson cycle usually used in hybrid vehicles. The second engine is a 1.0L engine developed with Daihatsu Co. The engines achieve 38 percent and 37 percent maximum thermal efficiency respectively.

Both engines will get stop-start technology. Read more about the engines here.
