New York City Tests Hybrid Bus

NEW YORK --- The New York City transit agency recently launched a two-month trial of a 35-foot-long electric hybrid bus. AP reported that the the DesignLine Hybrid bus began ferrying riders up and down 42nd Street last Thursday. If all goes well, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority expects to purchase several. The vehicle gets 8 to 10 miles per gallon.
