Nissan Pursues Lithium Ion Battery Development

BANGKOK, India --- During a press conference here, Nissan Motor Co. CEO Carlos Ghosn said that Nissan is moving forward with plans to develop the next generation of lithium ion batteries."We have a lot of technology in this area, and we think this is going to be very helpful --- not only for hybrids but also for electric cars," Ghosn said, according to CIO Today. Ghosn added that Nissan is negotiating a deal to introduce a fleet of electric cars in the Japanese market. The cars would be used by local governments.
