KARIYA CITY, Japan --- Auto parts manufacturer Denso Corp. said it plans to hire 2,000 engineers by 2010 to accommodate Toyota's plans to increase production of hybrid and other alternative-fuel vehicles. "Competition to develop hybrid technologies is accelerating," Denso President Koichi Fukaya told a Bloomberg reporter in an interview last week at Denso's headquarters. "We need to ramp up our hiring." Toyota owns 23 percent of Denso.
