Honda Civic GX Tops "Greenest Vehicle" List

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) announced that this year's "greenest vehicle" title went to the natural gas-powered Honda Civic GX. The Toyota Prius and Honda Civic Hybrid, stalwarts on the annual "Greenest Vehicles" list, claimed spots two and three. The Nissan Altima Hybrid and Toyota Yaris, market newcomers for model year 2007, rounded out the top five. Others in the list included conventional and hybrid-electric vehicles from Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Toyota. examines the eco-performance of 2007 models. Vehicles are analyzed on the basis of a "Green Score," which takes into account unhealthy tailpipe emissions, fuel consumption, and the emissions of gases that cause global warming.
