Missouri Considers Biodiesel Mandate

January 26, 2007

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. --- Missouri state senators are considering legislation (SB 204) that would require all diesel sold in the state after Jan. 1, 2009 to contain a minimum of 5 percent biodiesel. "We are producing biodiesel for the state of Missouri, which is a renewable fuel that is produced in the fields of farmers in rural Missouri, stimulating the rural economy, putting money back in the economy of the state of Missouri," soybean farmer Kelly Forck told KOMU-TV News. State senators may vote on the bill as early as next week.
