MIAMI – With skyrocketing fuel prices, supply chain concerns, new hardware specifications, compliance regulations, and evolving technologies, the current climate can be daunting for fleet executives responsible for fueling their vehicles, according to a recent survey by eyefortransport. The summary report on the survey, “Fuel Management for Fleets,” analyzes the responses of more than 100 senior fleet executives from the leading trucking and delivery fleets and from private fleets within multinational manufacturers and retailers. Nearly half of the survey respondents ranked “rising fuel costs” as one of the greatest challenges facing their fleets. Training drivers in the use of fuel-conservation technology and performance-enhancing driving techniques was also a top priority. The report also suggests a marked increase in technology implementation to lower-running fuel costs. These findings and related topics will be examined at the Effective Fuel Management for Fleets Conference, which will focus on comprehensive long-term strategies and best practices for fleet executives responsible for purchasing and managing fuel. The conference will be held at the Miami Radisson Hotel, Feb. 20-21, 2007, at the Miami Radisson Downtown Hotel.
