Wisconsin Takes Steps to Boost Biodiesel Production

September 08, 2006

VALDERS, Wis. --- Wisconsin has awarded a $97,500 state grant to Quality Roasting Inc. to help the company double its production capacity for soybean oil used to produce biodiesel. State Agriculture Secretary Rod Nilsestuen presented the grant during a company visit this week, reported the Herald Times. Company officials expect Quality Roasting to bolster its production from 800,000 gallons to nearly 2 million gallons of soybean oil annually. The soybean oil is sold to two local biodiesel refineries: Renewable Alternatives in Manitowoc and Generation Bio LLC in New Holstein.
