Indiana State Representative Asks for Price Gouging Probe
INDIANAPOLIS --- Indiana House Democrat Leader B. Patrick Bauer has asked Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter to investigate whether there has been gasoline price gouging in the state. In a press release, Bauer suggested that Carter might ask Gov. Mitch Daniels to declare a state of emergency so the attorney general has broader authority to prosecute price gougers. Bauer said his request was prompted by constituent complaints about skyrocketing prices at the pump at a time of record profits by the oil industry.
