Illinois House Republicans Weigh Options to Reduce Fuel Prices

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. --- Illinois House Republicans are calling for a special legislative session to explore ways to help Illinois citizens deal with skyrocketing gasoline prices. According to a report by WIFR Channel 23 News, some Republicans have sent a letter to House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President Emil Jones, suggesting that the state consider temporarily suspending its share of taxes on fuel and consider legislation to bolster ethanol use.
